Better known as RJ among the musicians in Toronto. No novice to the
industry, he has traveled widely with his own 6 piece band, 4 piece band
and finally as part of a successful Duo with his ex wife & partner Pri
(Remarkable Jazz/ R&B vocals) since 1974. RJ and Pri were
affectionately known and respected as P&R Unlimited.
Venues that he has played at include five star locations that span the
Middle East; Dubai, Sharjah, Bahrain, Kuwait, Beirut and Damascus,
extending to Italy, Nairobi and going far East to China and a very
successful three years in Sheraton Hotel, Hong Kong . RJ has also played
at some concerts in Melbourne and Syndey, Australia.
Having launched his professional career in the late 60s, he has been
influenced by the greats (Beatles, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Santana, BST,
Chicago, Mahavishnu Orchestra, George Benson and Martin Taylor to name a
few) but has always evolved with the times expanding in to avenues of
modern Pop and R&B. While Jazz and Blues are his forte and passion, he
is comfortable playing in any genre or style.
Coming from Sri Lanka originally, P&R won many awards for their
contributions towards the local music industry. In 1993, at the
prestigious Golden Clef Awards in their home country, they won 6 out of
the 8 awards that they were nominated for.

Having dabbled in recording and working out of his own studio at home,
he is now a proficient recording engineer with a great knowledge of Midi
and digital computer recording using Cubase SX & Roland VS2480
technology.
